overall, i’m satisfied with this kit. for the most part, Parissa dilevered what it promised. though, i disagree with ‘gently lifts away hair’; by the very nature of waxing and sugaring, it wasn’t gentle - it’s ripping out hair by the roots really fast, for crying out loud.

there’s a few things to say about the negative comments about products like this .. i’ve done a lot of research into waxing and sugaring before shopping around for a kit, and found a lot of info and instructions about the process, that isn’t included in the parissa instructions.

really, you can’t put a waxing kit down for causing some pain, because hair roots have nerves, so it’ll hurt no matter what, and parissa never actually claims to be pain free. ya can’t put it down for not taking out all the hairs, when you haven’t taken all the steps to make it work right - taking a (comfortably) hot shower/bath before waxing/sugaring is critical, as it softens the hair and root; i found it the literal difference between it pulling all the hairs out, and none of the hairs.

and, finally, ya can’t put a waxing/sugaring product down for being messier than another waxing/sugaring product - it’s all about spreading hot goo on your skin with a spatula. of course it’ll be messy. just i didn’t make much of a mess at all, because i kept this in mind, and took pains to avoid a mess. if there’s gotta be a mess, sit on a towel - the great thing about sugaring like parissa’s body sugar kit, is that the paste is water soluble - it will wash out easily of the towel in the wash, and a warm watercloth will get the residue completely off the skin.

Okay, I have never had a salon wax and I have never purchased a waxing product. Well I used to take baths everyday and could easily see where I shaving on my legs. Since my fiance and I now have only one bathroom, I am forced to take showers now instead of baths as he comes home quite dirty.

Since I have been shaving my legs in the shower, I accidently started to shave up to high, about three inches below my thighs. I didn’t realize that I was shaving too high by the way.

While still being oblivious to this fact, I started shaving my legs with a cutoff point. Once I did that, I had courser and darker hair grow in around my upper thighs. It would have been a bad decision to just keep shaving this area.

My fiance said, “Why don’t you just bleach it?” I did not want to do that as the hair was somewhat course and I wanted results that would last longer.

Well after reading some reviews on the Internet about Parissa waxing products, I got the sugar waxing sytem by Parissa. This product worked EXCELLENT. It did not hurt & to be honest, I actually found it kind of fun, as with each strip I tore I saw a lot of hair and was like, “WOW.”

I had red bumps where I had sugar waxed for about 24 hours. DO NOT USE ON A DAY THAT YOU PLAN ON SHOWING YOUR LEGS OR ANY OTHER AREA, AS IT TAKES ABOUT 24 HOURS FOR THE REDNESS TO GO AWAY.

I met with my hair stylist yesterday and told her about it. She performs waxes in her shop all the time. I told her about my results and she was like, “no way.” I told her “yes way” and also mentioned the azalune oil that comes with it and she said that this oil is great to use after waxing. She was surprised that an over the counter waxing product came with this oil.

Bottom line, this product worked great on me. Definitely will buy again.

I just bought Parissa’s body sugar yesterday, and I love it so much! I had never had a wax or used any kind of wax product before this, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Mostly I was scared that it would hurt. I had used a Braun epilator before and was very unsatisfied because it was painful, ineffective, and left my legs bumpy and irritated, not smooth.

I was amazed that this body sugar is virtually painless. I have always had extremely sensitive skin, but I found this quite tolerable, even pleasant. I liked the warm sensation of the sugar on my skin (it’s microwavable!) and it didn’t cause any redness or irritation. And it works!

Another plus: It dissolves quickly with just a damp cloth. I have heard people complain about waxes being messy, but I just keep a damp washcloth with me while using it so I can easily wipe up any drips or excess.

One very minor complaint: I could really use some more strips! I have already used all the strips that came with the kit, and I still have a few patches I want to sugar! But as I said, that’s just a minor issue. The good news is that I can’t wait to get some more strips so I can keep using this stuff. It’s been a while since I’ve been this satisfied with a purchase for myself.

I wax my eyebrows but this was the first time I tried to wax my legs. Of course I was terrified thinking it would hurt a lot, but to my surprise it was not bad at all. There is some pain but not too much ( I am talking about the legs only).

Here are some tips that I can give after my experience:

    1) Get extra strips: For some reason I think the muslin strips seem to work better. I find that it is very hard to reuse the same strip so you end up wasting most of it but until you get comfortable this maybe the only way.

    2) Keep the wax warm: You want it to be quite warm. If it gets cool then it does not stick to hair and you feel pain and the hair is still there:(

    3) baby powder does help a lot.

    4) Watch out the direction of hair growth

    4) Read the instructions. It tells you to pull the skin the opposite way while ripping the strip off, this helps a lot. If you have someone that can pull the strip for you just hold your leg very tightly above the location of the strip, this always helps to ease the pain.

Again the pain is not bad at all. I have extremely sensitive white skin and thick hair so if I can manage it anyone can. It does not take long to do both legs, but light is an issue. Try to do it in daylight so that you can see clearly.

    FACE:

I did not have good results on face. Especially eyebrows. The hair is usually short so it does not pick it up.

    UNDERARM:

I tried a very small area, was very afraid that it would hurt. It was OK, not that bad, but I did not want to continue because direction of the hair growth is hard to determine and I am not experienced to pull the strip off quickly. I will try again later and try to update this review.

OVERALL: Easy application, good results. I am sure non-sugar waxes would bring better results but if you are new like me it is easier to be able to wash it off. I will buy a box of the non-sugar wax also and try to compare them in the near future.
